I will present the work we do at Hardanger Fartoyvernsenter and what it means to be a ropemaker today. Our responsibility is to learn and maintain old crafts so that we can restore traditional vessels as it was done. A part of that is ropemaking where we make rope of natural fiber for sailboats and tallships. We have been doing that of the last 30 years and by know have much experience in how well it does but also where it have some challenges.
