Since its early beginnings as an amateur-friendly way to build small dinghies and kayaks, the Stitch-and-Glue method has grown vastly more versatile than anyone ever imagined it could. Sam Devlin has used it for everything from small sloops and casual fishing boats to serious tugs and oceangoing motor cruisers nearing 50 feet—and through all these permutations, it has remained remarkably accessible to the amateur. In this presentation we briefly review how the Stitch-and-Glue process works and proceed to some of the new adaptations for big vessels and aesthetic grace that no one ever dreamed possible in plywood.
