Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival 2024

Come see what small living creatures are in the water! Every morning at Wooden Boat Fest we invite folks to join us in retrieving a plankton sampling device ('light trap') in the marina and checking out what was caught under the microscope. We will start the demonstration by meeting at the Marine Science and Stewardship stage and briefly sharing a bit about the importance of monitoring and in particular, how these sampling efforts can help increase our understanding of local Dungeness crab populations.
