Strikes A Bell sings familiar and catchy sea chanteys and maritime songs guaranteed to get the audience joining in on the chorus. The a cappella group focuses on tight harmonies and both modern and historic sea songs. They met at Northwest Seaport’s Monthly Chantey Sing in Seattle, and the group has performed at a variety of maritime venues for over ten years. Some of the gigs include the Northwest Folklife Festival, the Tumbleweed Festival, Town Hall Seattle, the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, the Port Gamble Maritime Music Festival, and appearances at the Quarterdeck at the Des Moines Marina, the Tractor Tavern, and the Puget Sound Maritime Historical Society. The crew consists of Laura Bassett, Jean Geiger, David Kessler, Debra Norby, Wayne Palsson (leader), David Perasso, Dan Roberts, Steve Whinihan, and Mary Wilson.
